The nonpartisan Wisconsin Legislative Fiscal Bureau this afternoon released its analysis of the federal stimulus bill relating to the COVID-19 epidemic that was signed into law last Friday.
Republican state legislative leaders have been waiting for the release of the state analysis of the
Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act before moving forward with meeting in extraordinary session.
"Although the Act appropriates funds to individuals, businesses, and governments, this memorandum addresses the fiscal effects of the legislation and the potential impact that they may have on Wisconsin government and in some instances, local governments and educational institutions," the memo states.
